DALLAS — A fatal single-vehicle crash shut down the southbound lanes of Loop 12 near the E Shady Grove exit for hours Friday afternoon.
Just before 2:30 p.m., the Dallas Police Department responded to an accident in the 2500 block of North Walton Walker Boulevard. Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) crews also responded to the scene.
When DFR arrived, they found a Home Depot rental truck in the middle lane, with an adult male lying unresponsive across the front seat, the department said in a news release.
Firefighters began CPR on the man and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, DFR said.
The person’s identity was not immediately released.
“This is being investigated as an unexplained death,” DPD said in a statement.
Around 6 p.m., the highway fully reopened. The cause of the crash is unclear at this time.
