Victim identified in crash that closed U.S. 75 for 12 hours, police say​on April 10, 2025 at 2:13 pm

DALLAS — A woman died after she was hit by multiple vehicles on U.S. 75 in North Dallas late Tuesday night, a crash that resulted in a major traffic shutdown through the morning rush hour, police said.

The crash was reported at 11:05 p.m. near Royal Lane, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. Officers responded and found that the victim had been hit by multiple vehicles, according to a police news release. She died at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 46-year-old Charlie Brown, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner. 

All southbound lanes were shut down as police investigated the crash, and they remained closed until the early afternoon on Wednesday. Police said in a 1 p.m. update that lanes were re-opened.

Traffic all morning was being diverted onto the service road at Royal, causing heavy delays on the busy highway.

More information about how the crash happened was not released. The victim has not been identified yet.
