A teenager died and another man was injured in an early-morning collision in Stanley Park Friday.

Const. Tania Visintin, a spokesperson for the Vancouver Police, said shortly after 3 a.m., the driver of a white BMW was travelling along Stanley Park Drive between Second and Third Beach, when he lost control and crashed into a tree.

The 18-year-old passenger died and the driver was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, she said.

Visintin said investigators don’t believe alcohol or drug impairment contributed to the collision.

Witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, is asked to call VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit at 604-717-3012.
