A woman has been killed and 10 other people taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash on Gympie Arterial Road at Bald Hills overnight.
Police said the woman had been in a Honda Odyssey, which was stationary on the right-hand shoulder of the road along with a Hyundai Imax, when a Toyota HiAce van collided into the vehicles from behind about 9.40pm.
The woman died at the scene.
Police were trying to contact the woman’s family on Monday morning. Some of the occupants of the vehicles were understood to be international visitors.
Three men were fighting for their lives in hospital on Monday after suffering critical injuries in the crash.
Two men with life-threatening head and limb injuries were taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
A third man was taken with life-threatening injuries to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
Seven other people, including three women in their 20s, a woman in her 40s, a man in his 30s and two other men, were taken to various hospitals in a stable condition.

Emergency services and recovery crews remained at the scene for hours, with the southbound lane not reopened for four hours.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the crash, with police asking any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
