Next up, with a 5 p.m. Thursday reception, is a new show featuring Western Canadian impressionist painters Helena Hadala and Paddy Lamb to add some more colour to your week. That one runs through April 20, followed by the jazzy work of Barrie Szekely from April 24 to May 3.

Kane Brown: Tickets are still yours for the grabbing for Chattanooga-born country star Kane Brown, who got his career going by posting covers online and crowdfunding his first EP.

His latest album features guest stars Jelly Roll, Brad Paisley and Khalid, as well as a couple of duets with his wife Katelyn Jae.

Opening is North Carolina’s Scotty McCreery — known for his song Fall of Summer off the album Rise & Fall — who recently fell backwards on stage but cheerfully rolled with it, so let’s see what happens Sunday!

Winter Rink Closing Party: Due to the floofy spring snowstorm turning the streets to oobleck, this celebration of spring — including a seed exchange, relay race and announcement of the upcoming McCauley Community League — has been postponed!

More time to shovel those walks it is — but a new date will be announced soon.

In the meantime, a new run of Marilyn Dumont and Paula Kirman’s smart little Indigenous McCauley zine has been printed, which you can find in shops like Paper Birch Books or online at bmcnews.org/pamphlets.
