SAN MARINO, Calif. (KABC) — A woman was found dead Monday morning after crews extinguished a fire at a home in San Marino, authorities said.
The fire was reported around 9:45 a.m. at a home in the 2000 block of Lorain Road, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Several agencies responded to a fire in the back of the property. A woman in her 50s was found inside the home and pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Sheriff’s Lt. Steven De Jong said the victim’s husband told investigators he had taken his two sons to baseball practice, and when he returned he noticed the home was on fire.
Investigators say they are interviewing the husband, their twin 16-year-old boys and residents in the neighborhood.
It’s unclear what sparked the fire or how exactly the woman died. Authorities told Eyewitness News they are investigating and are “following protocols.”
Investigators say they will review any security video on the property.
