PUT UP NO CROSSING SIGN

No MP should be allowed to cross the floor. They were elected by the people to represent them under a particular party because the voter shares that party’s ideals.

It would seem that this MP, Chris d’Entremont, was simply a Liberal in Conservative clothes. His actions show he’s not looking out for Canadians in his riding, but for himself. That being the case, how much of the Conservative ideas and future plans are going to be told to the Liberals?

How do you trust someone who would promise to represent you only to cross over to the enemy? And the move happens to come right as the budget is due to be voted on? Why not voice his opinion at the upcoming leadership conference in January?

If an MP doesn’t like the party he’s in, then he should be forced to resign and then run in the next election under the new party. When an MP becomes a traitor to his own constituents, that is a serious issue.

MAPLE MEMORIES

Remember when jobs were plentiful, housing was affordable, and you had food and gas money in your wallet?

When a night out wasn’t just for your birthday or anniversary? When Sir John A. Macdonald was our proud founder of Confederation? When the Edmonton Eskimos were the most feared football team in the Canadian Football League?

When our national anthem still had its original lyrics? When Canadian Legions were the hubs of communities and the only wars we fought since Korea were on the ice versus either Russia or the U.S.A. after Boxing Day?

What happened to us?

OUR MONEY ‘HARD’ AT WORK

Re: Illegal immigrants’ costing Canucks $195 a day: Report, Nov. 6

Wow! That means in an 8.0-hour working day, illegal immigrants get paid $24.38 per hour. Meanwhile, there are hard-working Canadians in Ontario who only get paid a minimum wage of $17.60 per hour.

Time for Canadians to change their status to illegal immigrant. What a disgrace. Thank you, Liberals.
