Prime Minister Mark Carney is a master of the political sidestep.
Just like that old movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), where the governor, played by Charles Durning, makes his position clearly unclear by singing this little ditty:
“Ooh, I love to dance a little sidestep
Now they see me, now they don’t, I’ve come and gone and … lead the people on.”
Nothing in politics has changed and ever will.
Once again, thanks to all you recent Liberal voters for a fourth spin around the dance floor.

MIXED REVIEWS FOR KING LETTERS
Re: Salute to the King, letter to the editor, May 31, and Grow Up, Canada, letter to the editor, May 31
Thank you, Peter J. Middlemore Sr., for a great letter regarding the visit by King Charles and Queen Camilla to Canada, which is always special, and King Charles’ throne speech.

It made me proud as a Canadian to see the King deliver the throne speech as my late mother was British. It also shows that Canada and England are great allies that work together.
So, sir, thanks for a great letter showing Canadian and British unity.
As for the other letter, I have a question for the writer: Are you a Canadian?
Most people — Canadians, British, Americans and many others in countries around the world — were very happy to see King Charles in Ottawa and to see him deliver the throne speech.
Canada is very independent and Canadian people do act like adults, and so does Canada.
Start being Canadian and support Canada; after all, it’s the country you chose to live in.

UPSET ABOUT ANGRY-DOG CARTOON
I don’t appreciate your cartoonist, especially portraying Pierre Poilievre as an angry dog. This is in very poor taste. Obviously your cartoonist is a Liberal; there is no reason to portray the opposition in this manner.
I deplore these exaggerated, outlandish cartoons. Surely you can do better than this.
