A girl has suffered what police describe as non-life-threatening and non-life-altering injuries after being struck by a CTrain at Anderson station Friday afternoon.

CTrain service at Anderson Station was closed for several hours while officers investigated, Calgary police said in an advisory to media.

The incident was reported just before 3:30 p.m. and Calgary Transit continued to report the CTrain was not running at Anderson station at 5:30 p.m. As of 5:45 p.m. trains were passing through Anderson station on a single track, but not stopping at the station. At around 8 p.m. regular service at Anderson station resumed.

Friday’s incident comes less than a month after an 11-year-old boy was struck by a CTrain at Banff Trail station in northwest Calgary.

The child suffered a broken leg on April 11 in what officials at the time described as a freak incident, when he used a crosswalk at the station as a train was approaching but the warning systems appeared to have malfunctioned.
