The Will County Sheriff’s Office said one person died and two others injured, one critically after a car plunged into a retention pond in Lemont.
LEMONT, Ill. (WLS) — One person died and two others injured, one critically after a car plunged into a retention pond in Lemont Wednesday morning, the Will County Sheriff’s Office said.
There’s been a large presence of first responders on South Archer Road near the intersection of 135th Street, not far from I-355.

The sheriff’s office said the crash occurred after 2 a.m.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and two others were transported to hospitals, one in critical condition.
The scene is not far from a strip mall and Target parking lot.
