The New York Giants hold the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft and are, by many accounts, expected to be out of luck when it comes to landing one of the top two quarterbacks in this year’s class.
Tennessee and Cleveland, who hold the top two picks, both need quarterbacks. They are expected to acquire Miami’s Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders of Colorado before the Giants are on the clock at No. 3.
But sometimes speculation is not equivalent to reality.
On Wednesday, the Titans held a press conference to introduce new general manager Mike Brogonzi, and director of football operations Chad Brinker made a very interesting comment.
“We won’t pass on a generational talent with the first pick in the NFL draft,” Brinker said.
The only player who mock drafters and draftniks see as a “generational” player is the Heisman Trophy winner and Colorado two-way sensation, Travis Hunter.

Is Brinker saying they are bypassing a quarterback to take Hunter? Is he sandbagging the football world and hoping to induce a trade?
No one knows. But if the Titans are locked into Hunter, that changes the entire draft. The Giants can stay put at No. 3 and know they are getting Ward or Sanders without having to give up any draft capital.
If the Giants aren’t enamored with either, they then become the seller and cash the pick in for a team looking to move up for one of the two quarterbacks.
