LeSean McCoy shades Giants after Eagles win Super Bowl LIXon February 10, 2025 at 1:54 pm

There is no love lost between the New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, a rivalry that dates back decades. And when there’s an opportunity to throw shade, very rarely is it passed over.

Following the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night, retired running back LeSean McCoy took his shots.

Proving that the Giants will forever be on his mind, he thanked the organization for Saquon Barkley.

McCoy was a long-time thorn in the Giants’ side, rushing for 1,036 yards and four touchdowns over 12 games (9-3 record). He also had a heated individual rivalry with defensive end Osi Umenyiora, which extended well beyond the football field.

Their rivalry reached a fever pitch in 2012 when McCoy said Umenyiora looked like “a ballerina in a Giants uniform” and called him “soft.”

Osi fired back, referring to McCoy as “Lady Gaga” and wishing him a Happy Mother’s Day on social media before eventually apologizing to the women he offended.

Umenyiora won two Super Bowl championships with the Giants and McCoy compiled two rings of his own, although neither came as a member of the Eagles.

But in this moment, McCoy has the high ground and he knows it. And he wants the Giants and their fans to know it.
