Guinea Pig Abandoned at London Tube Station Sparks Outcry
In a shocking incident that has stirred emotions across London, a guinea pig was discovered abandoned at a Tube station with a heartbreaking note pleading for a new owner. The small creature, affectionately named DiscoPig, was found inside a cage in an unmonitored area of Canning Town station in East London, leaving many outraged by the callous act of abandonment.
According to reports from the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), staff at the station stumbled upon the abandoned animal around 4 pm on February 18th. Attached to the cage was a poignant note that simply stated, “I need a new owner. Guinea Pig.”
DiscoPig, estimated to be between six and twelve months old, was promptly rescued by authorities and is now under the care of the animal protection agency. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the RSPCA assured that the guinea pig appeared to be in good health and well looked after.
RSPCA inspector Shahnaz Ahmad expressed dismay over the incident, condemning the act of abandonment as cruel and unnecessary.
