Enrique Tarrio, the Proud Boys member who was pardoned last month by President Donald Trump, was arrested Friday at the U.S. Capitol, authorities said.
According to U.S. Capitol police, Tarrio struck a woman’s phone and arm after she placed the device near his face just moments after he held a press conference on Capitol grounds.
Authorities said he was arrested on a simple assault charge.
Before receiving a presidential pardon, Tarrio had been sentenced to 22 years in prison for seditious conspiracy, despite not being at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
