A 38-year-old man accused of killing a man and a woman with a machete appeared in Broward County court on Tuesday.
Police officers arrested Darrell Roberts at the crime scene on Monday at 1510 SW 190 Ave., in Pembroke Pines.
Fire rescue personnel used a helicopter to fly the woman to Memorial Regional Hospital where she later died.
The woman was injured when she intervened in a conflict between Roberts and a repairman who was working outside, police said.
Inmate records show correctional deputies booked Roberts at the main jail in Fort Lauderdale, where he remained without bond.
County court records show Broward prosecutors filed a case Monday on two counts of first-degree murder.
Broward County Circuit Judge Michael Lynch was set to preside over the case.
