Multiple people were hurt after afire broke out in a basement in Queens.
ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) — Eight people were hurt after a fire broke out in the basement of a Queens home early Monday.
The fire happened on 32nd Street and 34th Avenue in the Astoria section around 2:45 a.m.
The victims were taken to nearby hospitals and treated for minor injuries.
Other building residents were forced out into the cold.
At least 60 FDNY members were on the scene to battle the blaze.
They were able to gain control of the fire in just under two hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
