Q I’ve been dying to get my hands on a Dyson hairdryer but the prices in Ireland are too steep for me. I spotted some decent prices on UK websites but I was afraid of getting stung with import charges so I didn’t order from them. Last month, I noticed an Irish website that was selling Dyson hairdryers for a reasonable price so I pounced and made a purchase. Now I’ve received a notification from An Post saying that I have to pay the import charges and VAT that I had been trying to avoid. Is there anything I can do?
