Two men were found dead inside an Englewood home Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
When police officers arrived at 6137 S. Justine St., they found found one man lying face down in a pool of blood with his head wrapped in duct tape and with his hands and feet zip-tied together, according to an incident report obtained by the Tribune.
Another man was found lying on a bed, fully dressed and wearing black gloves, the report said. Police found a gun next to the head of the man who had been zip-tied and a single spent shell casing in the dining room, according to the report.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not release the men’s identities or reveal how they are believed to have died, but said both were pronounced dead at 4:19 p.m. Autopsies for both men were scheduled for Saturday.
A woman listed in the police report as one of the men’s girlfriend told officers she had last spoken to her boyfriend Friday morning and had been bringing them food when she discovered their bodies.
By 6:30 p.m., police lined up on the front porch of a gray stone-clad workers cottage on the east side of South Justine Street, where the home’s blinds were drawn. The officers spoke to a man in the doorway before going inside.
