There are a few different ways to vote no matter your schedule or accessibility needs.

You can vote in person on byelection day April 5 at any polling station across the city.

You can vote in advance on one of two advance voting days: Wednesday, March 26, and Tuesday, April 1, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is only one advance polling station, located at Vancouver City Hall (453 West 12th Ave.).

You can vote by mail but you’ll need to apply to receive your ballot by mail. Once your ballot is filled out, you’ll have to return it by mail or drop it off at a designated drop box by April 5 at 8 p.m. to be counted.

You can vote in person at any polling station across the city of Vancouver, so you can pick a station close to home or you can pick a station convenient for you while on the way to and from work or while running errands.

How do I vote by mail?

If you’d like to receive a vote-by-mail package in the mail, you’ll need to register by noon on March 24 at the latest.

If you’d like to vote by mail and can pick up your package from the election office, you have until noon on April 1 to request a mail ballot. Keep in mind, you’ll need to pick up your ballot package by noon on April 4 at the latest.

Once your mail ballot is complete, you’ll have until 5 p.m. on April 5 to hand in your ballot to a designated community centre drop box (locations found here) or until 8 p.m. April 5 to drop it off at city hall or the election office drop boxes.

There are several bonuses to voting in advance. For one, there’s a possibility the lineups will be shorter than on election day, since both advance polling days are on weekdays.
