Ballynoe in Howth underwent a stunning remodel in the noughties, transforming it from a 1920s dormer bungalow to the unique property it is today.
The house, which has the address of 11 Claremont Road, was bought by its current owners in 2004 and now, just over 20 years later, it is looking to entice new owners.
Inspired by the Virus Reference Laboratory in UCD, which was designed by McCullough Mulvin, the property was created to capture the sea views by turning it upside down and removing its sharp edges.

There is a pond to the front of the property, surrounded with a myriad of wildflowers. To the rear, proprietors have private access to the North Burrow and Claremont sandy beaches.
On a clear day, the homeowners can enjoy wonderfully picturesque views of the beach and coastline across to Ireland’s Eye, Lambay Island and the Mountains of Morne.

Upon entrance, guests are welcomed to the reception hall on the ground floor, which boasts laminate timber-effect flooring, recess lighting and a large glass door to the rear garden, ensuring the property is flooded with light on a clear day.
Somewhat unconventionally, all five of the home’s bedrooms rest on the ground floor.

The shower rom comprises of a wash hand basin, WC, shower, heated towel rail and extractor fan, while the larger bathroom boasts a wash hand basin, WC, bidet, roll-top bath, separate shower and a heated towel rail.
A utility room, which is plumbed for a washing machine and has ample space for a tumble dryer, double sink and countertops, completes the downstairs accommodation.

Upstairs was made for entertaining. The living-come-kitchen-come-dining room is totally open plan.
It has a semi-solid maple floor, heavy birch plywood and paneled walls and cleanings. It boasts a cast iron ‘Nestor Martin’ stove, underfloor heating, a TV point, and three large glass doors to the rear of the property.

The kitchen area has a fitted kitchen with a range gas cooker, extractor fan, solid ‘IROKO’ timber countertops, and an integrated dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
Outside, there’s a balcony which overlooks the expansive rear garden and boasts those aforementioned stunning views.

There’s a metal staircase descending from the property into the garden, which is the perfect hangout on a sunny summer day.
Ballynoe, 11 Claremont Road, is currently on the market for €3million.
