CROWLEY, Texas — A Crowley Independent School District elementary school was closed Monday “due to an active law enforcement investigation” nearby, officials said.
Crowley school district officials asked students and staff at J.A. Hargrave Elementary School to stay home Monday because of an active investigation, which was “taking place in the area near the campus,” according to a statement posted on the district’s website.
Officials did not say more about what police were investigating. The school is located in the 9200 block of Poynter Street in Fort Worth.
“The safety of our students and staff is our top priority,” Crowley school district officials said. “We are working closely with local law enforcement and will provide updates as more information becomes available.”
