So Smith holds her fire.

For the next few days do not expect the Alberta premier to talk about a national unity crisis if Carney and the Liberals are elected.

But make no mistake, if the Carney Liberals are elected and don’t reverse course on the many Liberal laws and rules and regulations damaging Alberta, the battle lines will be drawn and we will all have to stay tuned.

Remember Smith met Carney and presented him with nine demands, nine harmful Liberal moves the premier wants to see deep-sixed.

So far, Smith is batting 0-for-9.

In fact, in Calgary, Carney dismissed Smith’s demands in half a sentence telling us he had his own plans.

Carney also gave no commitment that oil and gas pipelines or LNG projects would be part of the big building schemes he has on his radar.

Then this week in Quebec and in French Carney talks about new projects but not necessarily pipelines.

Poilievre of the Conservatives, on the other hand, backs pipelines 110 per cent and always has supported them “to take back our economy from the Americans.”

“We can’t afford a fourth term of giving Americans energy on the cheap.”

Oh, you can point to polls saying Canadians want to see pipelines built but a lot of those pro-pipeline Canadians are probably planning to vote for Carney and the Liberals.

They just don’t connect the dots.

Just like Ontario Premier Doug Ford wants pipelines running every which way connecting Alberta oil to the world.
