Vance makes case for redistricting to Indiana Republicans
Vice President JD Vance visited Indianapolis on Thursday, alongside several White House officials, as he made the pitch to Republican lawmakers to redraw the state’s congressional map.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair, White House Counsel Dave Warrington and Office of Intergovernmental Affairs Director Alex Meyer took personal days to join Vance in making the case to lawmakers in Indiana, a source familiar confirmed to ABC News.
The source said that the vice president made a strong case for supporting redistricting while fielding questions from Indiana lawmakers.
The visit comes amid a showdown in Texas over redistricting, where Democrats have fled the state in an attempt to stymie a GOP effort to redraw congressional maps.

Trump admin asks Supreme Court to allow LA immigration tactics to resume
The Trump administration filed an emergency petition with the Supreme Court Thursday seeking a green light to resume some immigration enforcement tactics in central California that a federal judge had found unlawful.
The judge had concluded that “roving patrols” by DHS, apprehending immigrants solely on the basis of factors like race, accent, the type of work they do and presence at a particular location, violated the Fourth Amendment.
Solicitor General D. John Sauer says the lower court injunction is significantly interfering with federal enforcement responsibilities and must be rolled back.
Sauer also claims that the injunction across central California violates the Court’s recent ruling curbing the ability of federal judges to provide relief to non-plaintiffs in a case.
The Supreme Court will likely seek a response from the ACLU respondents before making a decision.

Anita Dunn defends Biden in closed-door House committee interview
Anita Dunn, who was a senior adviser under former President Joe Biden, defended him during a closed-door deposition at the House Oversight Committee Thursday, telling investigators that while she observed a “physical” decline in Biden during his four years in office, she maintained the belief that he was calling the shots and mentally engaged in decision-making at the White House.
“From what I experienced and observed in the White House, President Biden made all of the important decisions expected of someone serving as the president of the United States,” Dunn told the committee, according to her prepared remarks obtained by ABC News.
Dunn refused to answer any questions from reporters as she arrived and left the deposition.
