One man was in custody after a shooting incident early Friday in Gatineau.

Police were called at about 6 a.m. following a report about a man who allegedly fired a shot at a residence on Lambert Street near Fournier Boulevard in the city’s Hull district.

A suspect was quickly located and arrested.

No injuries were reported.

Gatineau police later identified the suspect as an 18-year-old man from Ottawa.

He appeared in court by videoconference on Friday afternoon to face charges of intentionally discharging a firearm, possession of a firearm for the purpose of committing an offence and mischief.

He remained in custody pending a bail hearing.

Fournier Boulevard, a major thoroughfare in the region, was closed in both directions while police investigated the incident.
