The answer, of course, is when he is Mark Carney. He may look and sound like a banker, but he is a global elite in charge of Canada’s piggy bank, and heaven help us all.

Can you imagine any banker loaning you more money when you are literally choking on the interest of your existing debt while also refusing to tap into our natural resources to cover the costs instead of borrowing?

I honestly thought he might be different from his predecessor; unfortunately, they are far too similar.

The camel’s legs were already trembling, and he just threw another couple hundred pounds of straw on it, so wait for it because it is coming.

TAXPAYERS PAYING, NOT GOVERNMENTS

I wonder if anyone actually thinks about claims that a particular level of government is paying for this or that. In the above article, all three levels of government are being cited for what they’re “committing” to the World Cup.

First off, none of those levels are paying a thing. We, as taxpayers, pay taxes to all three levels of government. No government is paying for anything; it’s the taxpayers who are on the hook for all three of those commitments.

The government pays for nothing, the taxpayer does. The government owns nothing, the taxpayer does. Having said all this, it’s time that taxpayers got their money’s worth and demanded accountability from each level.

NEED MORE LIKE JACQUES

We need more people like Jason Jacques. He’s honest and thinks about Canadians (not himself). We don’t need tact. We can’t afford this government. Mr. Jacques should be appointed as long-term parliamentary budget officer.

JACQUES SORELY NEEDED

We don’t need a see-nothing, say-nothing, Liberal-appointed parliamentary budget officer since transparency is in such short supply as it is. Jason Jacques seems to be cut from the same cloth as Yves Giroux, and he is sorely needed in this position. All opposition parties should be demanding that he is appointed to the permanent role.

We can’t afford to let this man go by the wayside. He is such a refreshing and forthcoming advocate for accountability.

Let’s hope the other parties wake up to the consequences of not having him in this role.
