In response to Trump-related backlash, Wayne Gretzky said, “I can’t vote in Canada because I don’t live in Canada.”
Wakey, wakey, Wayne, you and your advisers know full well you can vote in Canadian federal elections. If you want to, that is. Obviously, you do not want to.
Check the Government of Canada website: “If you are living outside Canada, you may apply to be added to the International Register of Electors. You can then vote by special mail-in ballot in future federal elections, by-elections and referenda.”
So, stuff the phoney excuses, Wayne. Nobody is buying your drivel. You chose America.
Stop wasting our time, or “ragging the puck,” if you only get hockey parlance.

The permanent position of parliamentary budget officer is now open. The federal government has posted ads. He or she will be responsible for governmental fiscal transparency and operate as an independent officer of Parliament.

I have watched Jason Jacques, the interim PBO, being interviewed and I am very impressed with him. He tells it like it is.
On Sunday, when asked, he said he will apply for the permanent position.
I personally think Mr. Jacques would be perfect for the position. He has a wealth of extremely valuable experience, but he has not been shy or hesitant with his criticism of the Mark Carney Liberal budget. He does not sugarcoat it.
Let’s face it, Liberals are very thin-skinned and in their arrogance do not respond well to criticism of any kind.
It will speak volumes about the Carney government if they bypass Jason Jacques.

HYPOCRITE CANADIANS?
Are Canadians hypocrites? Just asking. I think they are. Remember let’s boycott everything American? Well, except for boycotting travel to the southern climes of the U.S.A., I don’t think it had any effect. Unless I missed something, did we boycott American programming on television or movies? How about sports? Take the Toronto Blue Jays as an example. They’re mostly Americans playing what is essentially an American game. We watched in huge numbers. We could have boycotted toothpaste as an example. Wait, most of it is imported from America or owned by companies based in the U.S.A. Even the family’s dentist and doctor were educated in the good old U S of A. Again, I wonder are we closet hypocrites?
