Teen boy struck by vehicle in York, rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries

A 15-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in northwest Toronto.

Toronto police say it happened at around 2:35 p.m. in York at the intersection of Humber Boulevard and Louvain Street.

CityNews has confirmed the teen was a student at nearby Saint Oscar Romero Catholic Secondary School.

The driver remained on scene, police say, but there’s no word on possible charges at this point.

One area resident tells CityNews that the intersection where the boy was struck has been problematic.

“This intersection, and many others in the neighbourhood, are extremely dangerous,” she said. “I actually have submitted, multiple times, a request for an assessment of the paths that the children around here, and the teens, have to walk to school because I had these concerns, and every time they’ve been closed and nothing has been done about it.”
