IRELAND AM Muireann O’Connell opted to wear a “safe outfit” for her live TV duties after having a major fashion mishap before going on air.
The Limerick native was back on screens this morning to wake up the nation alongside her usual co-hosts, Tommy Bowe and Alan Hughes.
Muireann, who is well-known for her trendy TV looks, had a tough time deciding on an outfit today.
Explaining the conundrum on Instagram, the 41-year-old said: “When all your clothes that fit yesterday decide not to fit today, gotta have the safe outfits.”
But the popular presenter did not disappoint when it came to sporting a more “simple” look.
The TV star looked ready for spring as she stepped out on air in head-to-toe navy.
The 41-year-old looked effortlessly cool as she wore an oversized navy pin-striped blazer and a satin midi dress underneath.
Muireann decided to finish off her look with a pair of navy suede stiletto heels and a unique navy chained necklace.
The Virgin Media presenter also rocked her brand new cropped blonde bob and had it styled perfectly.
And although the host claimed her outfit was “years old”, those looking to purchase Muireann’s stylish blazer can find a similar item on the Pull & Bear website or in stores.

MUIR BARGAINS
Last week, Muireann looked fabulous in a “budget” River Island dress that was a dupe of a popular designer.
The fabulous piece was the perfect dupe of a dress from renowned fashion designer Vivienne Westwood.
Posing in her dressing room, Muireann showed off the dress, which featured a slit at the knee, to allow her to show off some leg.
The brown check midi dress also has a cowl neck design to create a balanced silhouette and softness around the chest area.
The dress currently retails on River Island’s website for just €76.
The current price of the dress on River Island is a fraction of the amount some recent frocks from the renowned designer have gone for – with dress prices ranging from €300 to over €1,000.
She paired the dress with some “old” tan high heels, which were perfect for the look with the dress’s slit.
To round off her on-air look, Muireann popped on a pair of large gold hoop earrings and, with a wave to the camera, exited to host the show.
