Toronto Fire crews rescued a man from an Etobicoke high-rise after flames broke out in a unit on the 19th floor late Monday morning. Firefighters were called to the residential complex on Richview Road, in the Eglinton Avenue West and Scarlett Road area, at around 11:37 a.m. After being rescued from the unit, the man was taken to hospital with serious, non life-threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. The fire was contained to one unit and has since been extinguished. Firefighters remain on scene checking for hotspots. Peel Regional Police are investigating after two residences and three vehicles were shot at in Brampton early Monday morning. Officers were called to the Spadina Road and Royal Orchard Drive area at around 2:41 a.m. Upon arrival they found evidence of gunfire. A man has been charged after he allegedly stole a snow removal vehicle and crashed into the entrance of the emergency department at SickKids Hospital Monday afternoon. Authorities say the vehicle was unattended when an unknown man entered the driver’s seat and allegedly drove it a short distance into the doors of the building. The man was apprehended a short while later and was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Durham Regional Police officers say two men are facing multiple charges after payment-skimming machines were found on several gas pumps at a Clarington gas station. According to a statement from investigators, the discovery was made at a Petro-Canada gas station on Highways 35 and 115, north of Highway 407, Tuesday morning. The statement said an employee who was inspecting the gas pumps saw the devices on the credit and debit card payment readers.
