The Israeli military says the sixth and final hostage has been released by Hamas in the latest exchange on Saturday and has arrived back in Israel. The hostage was not immediately identified but is expected to be Hisham Al-Sayed, 36, a Bedouin Israeli with a history of mental illness who crossed on his own into Gaza in 2015 and had been held since. A man is in hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in Dublin on Friday night. Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the incident at a property in Rutland Avenue in Crumlin. Emergency services responded to reports of shots being fired after 9.45pm on Friday. A man aged in his late 30s was taken to St James’s Hospital with “serious” but not life-threatening injuries. No other injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made. An appeal has been issued for witnesses or anyone who may have footage of the area around the time of the incident.

A five-year-old boy is continuing to receive treatment in hospital today following a serious collision in Largy yesterday evening. The boy was struck by a vehicle at around 5pm on Friday evening on the R263 road between Kilcar and Killybegs. He was immediately rushed to Sligo General Hospital. The road remains closed this Saturday afternoon to preserve the scene for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Gardaí continue to have diversions in place.
