A young boy was killed and three others injured, including two Chicago firefighters in a fast-moving blaze that heavily damaged an apartment building in the city’s West Ridge neighborhood on the city’s Northwest Side, officials said. Skokie residents who live near Church Street and McCormick Boulevard got a rude awakening Friday morning after a broken water main flooded the areas of the neighborhood and the cold turned much of it to ice.
