BIV is proud to announce the elevation of Tyler Orton to managing editor, effective immediately. Orton’s proven expertise in journalism and deep understanding of the British Columbia business landscape will continue to bring immense value to BIV’s editorial initiatives.
In this role, Orton will work with BIV’s leadership team to support the integrity, evolution and growth of BIV’s award-winning reporting across platforms. He will help oversee day-to-day newsroom operations, guide the newsroom’s editorial strategy and ensure BIV maintains its position as the leading source of business news in British Columbia.
Orton first joined BIV 11 years ago in early 2014 as a reporter. He is a longstanding business news contributor to Global News Morning, and since 2022 has served as business editor for BIV and Glacier Media, with a focus on developing and expanding BIV’s business news wire and digital offering.
As managing editor, Orton’s leadership will extend across BIV products.
