In his final days, Moore explained that he was as passionate about healthy food as he was when he first created Bob’s Red Mill, and his impact on the health world resonated deeply.
Born in Portland and raised in Los Angeles, Moore’s journey into the food business began with her and her husband Charlie’s desire to be healthy. Together they opened an underground flour mill in Reading that produced valuable food and flour.
Their business evolved into Bob’s Red Mill in Milwaukee in 1978, marking the beginning of an exciting natural foods business. Moore’s commitment to health and work ethics led the company’s growth, reaching a milestone in 2010 with a $100 million investment: Copy it to employees, make it work as employees at the company.
Throughout his life, Moore devoted his life to treating others with kindness and justice, embracing the principles of sharing and kindness.
