The Calgary Police Service is requesting the public’s help in identifying a man believed to have robbed and sexually assaulted a woman in a northeast hotel room.

On May 16 around 3 p.m., the suspect met with an unknown woman in a hotel located in the 100 block of Freeport Boulevard N.E., police say.

The suspect threatened the woman and brandished a knife, police said in a news release, and demanded cash, the victim’s cellphone and access to the room safe. He then restrained the woman and sexually assaulted her multiple times before fleeing with cash and the victim’s cellphone.

Officers began an investigation and is now for asking the public’s help to identify the suspect.

He is described as approximately 20 to 30 years old, between five feet eight and five feet 11 tall, weighing between 150 and 200 pounds, with a medium build, short black hair and black facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white Puma hoodie, blue or grey pants and grey running shoes.
