Country Star Morgan Wallen Arrested: Nashville Incident Sparks Legal Concerns
Country music sensation Morgan Wallen was apprehended late Sunday at Chief’s, a recently opened Nashville honky-tonk co-owned by his longtime confidant Eric Church. The arrest follows an incident where Wallen allegedly threw a chair from the establishment’s rooftop, resulting in three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.
According to a police report, Wallen, aged 30, was observed throwing a chair from the rooftop, narrowly missing Metro Nashville police officers who were stationed outside the bar. Security footage corroborated the incident, showing Wallen throwing an object over the roof and then laughing afterward.
Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, confirmed the arrest, stating that Wallen is fully cooperating with authorities. The singer was released on $15,250 bond early Monday morning and is scheduled to appear in court on May 3.
The incident casts uncertainty over Wallen’s upcoming engagements, including a planned concert at Nissan Stadium in Nashville and his headlining appearance at the Stagecoach Festival. No official statement has been issued regarding the status of these events.
This isn’t the first time Wallen has found himself in legal trouble on Lower Broadway. In 2020, he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock’s honky-tonk.
Despite the setback, Wallen has ambitious plans for the future, including the opening of a Nashville bar called ‘This Bar’ in 2024, inspired by his hit song of the same name. Additionally, he recently announced a partnership with Eric Church to acquire and relaunch the iconic Field & Stream outdoor lifestyle brand.
The incident comes amidst Wallen’s return to the spotlight after a three-year ban from CMT following a racial slur controversy. His business interests with Church, including Chief’s honky-tonk and the Field & Stream brand, highlight his ongoing engagement with Nashville’s music community.
