Police have released video footage of an unidentified suspect accused of following a female off a TTC streetcar and sexually assaulting her in a downtown alley.

Toronto Police said officers responded Monday at 4:30 a.m. to a sexual assault call in the Sumach-King Sts. area. Police said the victim and the suspect were travelling on the same eastbound streetcar. Cops said the victim exited the streetcar and the suspect followed before forcing the victim into an alley and assaulting her.

The suspect is about 50 years old and heavyset with a beard. He was last seen wearing a grey winter jacket with a small white logo on the right sleeve, black pants, black running shoes, a black tuque and a white surgical mask.

FEMALE ACCUSED OF ROBBERY, SPRAYING STORE STAFFERS

An unidentified female suspect is accused of robbing a downtown store earlier this month and spraying employees with an unknown substance.

Toronto Police said officers responded March 19 at 9:10 p.m. to a call for a robbery in the Dundas St. W.-Bay St. area.

Police said the suspect entered a store, selected multiple items and left a basket at the front of the store. Cops said a store staffer picked up the basket at which time the suspect allegedly began assaulting two employees to get it back. The accused then allegedly sprayed the workers with a substance before fleeing on foot with the stolen goods.

The suspect is in her 20s, has a slim build and straight black hair with bangs. She was wearing a black zip-up hoodie, blue and white pajama pants and white shoes.

OAKVILLE DEATH PROBED AS HOMICIDE

Police in Halton Region said a 43-year-old Oakville man’s death is now being probed as a homicide.

In a news release issued Tuesday, Halton Regional Police said Baljeet “Bally” Toki was found inside Montagio Custom Tailoring on Lakeshore Rd.

Police said there is no known threat to public safety and the major crime bureau is leading the investigation, urging anyone with information to come forward.

Officers are seeking witnesses and surveillance video from the area between 10 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police said they are especially seeking footage of the area between Trafalgar Rd. and Navy St., north of William St. and south of Randall St. They also ask that anyone who was driving on Trafalgar between Lakeshore and Dundas St. and has dashcam video to contact them at 905-825-4776 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or haltoncrimestoppers.ca.
