Early morning shooting in Central District leaves man dead

A man was shot and killed early Saturday in Seattle’s Central District.

A man was shot and killed in Seattle’s Central District early Saturday.

Seattle Police found the man unconscious with gunshot wounds around 4:25 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Spruce Street, according to a blotter post.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died.

Police say a suspect fled the scene and no arrests have been made as of 8 a.m. The homicide unit is investigating the incident.

Saturday’s shooting comes one week after Seattle’s first homicide of 2025. A man was killed in Pioneer Square on Jan. 25.
