It’s currently -1.3 C at the Edmonton Blatchford weather station with 6 km/h winds out of the northwest.

Just when I thought we were clear of winter, March keeps pulling us back in.

This is nothing new, of course. March is notoriously known for being an absolute tease when it comes to the idea of spring. Let’s be honest, we’re never really clear of the white stuff until at least May long weekend.

So here we are. Forecasters are calling for periods of light snow this morning with accumulations of around 2 cm before the heavy stuff really starts to kick in at around 6 p.m. tonight. Snow is expected to fall throughout the night, with local totals accumulating 5-10 cm.

Attention all skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts: snowfall warnings are in effect for Jasper National Park and Banff National Park, where folks can expect 10-25 cm of snow, and even up to 40 cm in higher elevations, by Monday morning.

With temperatures cooling off later in the week and more snow in the forecast, it looks as though this will all stick around for the foreseeable future. Enjoy!
