Law enforcement officials are searching for a woman they believe robbed at least five banks in Seattle.
The robberies took place between June and January, the Seattle branch of the FBI said in a news release. The U.S. Bank off Edmunds Street in West Seattle was the most recent robbery on Jan. 13. Investigators say the robberies were “note jobs,” but she displayed a weapon during the latest robbery.
The Wells Fargo on Queen Anne Avenue was the first target on June 28, followed by a U.S. Bank on Northeast 45th Street in the University District on Sept. 7. The U.S. Bank on Northeast 63rd Street in Roosevelt was robbed on Halloween, while the Key Bank off Holman Road in Greenwood was hit on Nov. 21.
Officials believe the woman is 18 to 25 years old and between 5-foot-3 and 5-foot-5. She’s been spotted wearing a mask and hats.
Steve Bernd, a spokesperson for the FBI in Seattle, said the agency is seeking tips and hopes the public recognizes the woman.
“We believe the same individual may be responsible for all five due to her M.O. and eyewitness accounts,” Bernd said in an email.
Tips can be submitted to the FBI at 800-225-5324 or the Seattle Police Department at 206-233-5000.
