A female victim was shot at a gas station Thursday near 175th Street and Kedzie Avenue in in Hazel Crest. Three suspects are in custody, police said.

HAZEL CREST, Ill. (WLS) — Hazel Crest police responded to a shooting gas station Thursday afternoon, officials said.

A female victim was shot and injured around 3 p.m. at a Citgo gas station 175th Street and Kedzie Avenue, police said.

Police said a female victim who was a customer at the gas station was shot while entering her vehicle. An offender then fled the scene in a vehicle.

The victim was stable and was taken to a hospital for leg injuries, police said. Her age was not immediately known.

Chopper 7 was over the scene as police investigated.

Three suspects were later taken into custody nearby in connection to the shooting, Hazel Crest police said.

No further information was immediately available.
