An investigation is underway after two people, including a 10-year-old girl, were found dead at a northwest suburban Streamwood home Wednesday night.
Uyani Jones, 10, and Janiya Jenkins, 21, were found inside a home in the 1600 block of McKool Avenue just after 8 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A police presence remained at the scene Thursday morning.
Streamwood police said in a statement that the “circumstances behind this incident are pending investigation.” They said preliminary information suggests it was an isolated incident and that there isn’t a threat to the public. Police did not disclose the relationship between Jones and Jenkins.
