Charli XCX is set to dominate this year’s Brit Awards, leading the nominations with five nods for her album Brat. Close behind her are Dua Lipa, The Last Dinner Party, Ezra Collective, and Myles Smith who each secured four nominations.
Charli XCX is in the running for Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year for the remix of Guess, featuring Billie Eilish. She also received nominations in the Dance and Pop categories.
Irish artists made their mark, with Fontaines D.C. earning a nomination for International Group of the Year. Hozier also secured a nod in the International Song of the Year category for his hit single Too Sweet.
The awards see the return of some legendary British bands. The Beatles’ AI-assisted track Now and Then is up for Best Song, marking their first nomination since the inaugural Brit Awards in 1977.
The Cure earned three nominations for Songs of a Lost World—their first album since 2008—securing nods for Album of the Year, Group of the Year, and Alternative/Rock Act Myles Smith, known for Stargazing, has been named this year’s Rising Star winner and is also nominated in the New Artist, Song, and Pop Act categories. The genre categories, determined by the Brit Awards voting academy, are then opened to public voting via WhatsApp.
In the Hip-Hop/Grime/Rap category, Little Simz is the sole female nominee, facing competition from Central Cee, Dave, Ghetts, and Stormzy.
Dua Lipa has been nominated for Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (Training Season), and Pop Act.
Last year’s biggest winner, Raye—who claimed six awards in 2024—is nominated for R&B Act. Sam Fender, despite releasing only two singles from his upcoming album People Watching, is up for Artist of the Year and Alternative/Rock Act.
Former Little Mix member Jade is also in the running for Song of the Year (Angel of My Dreams) and Pop Act.
In the international categories, Taylor Swift, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish each received two nominations. Eilish secured a third nomination for her collaboration with XCX in the Song category.
The ceremony will take place on March 1 at London’s O2 Arena. Jack Whitehall will return as host for the first time since 2021. Performers for the event have yet to be announced.
