McCanna Anthony “Mac” Sinise, son of actor Gary Sinise, succumbed to chordoma, a rare cancer, on January 5 at the age of 33. Gary Sinise confirmed his son’s passing in a tribute on his foundation’s website, highlighting Mac’s musical journey and his resilience in battling the disease.

2. Musical Talent and Personal Journey:

Mac Sinise’s musical talent blossomed early, beginning with drumming at age 9 and later studying songwriting and composition at USC Thornton School of Music. Despite his diagnosis of chordoma in 2018, he continued to pursue music, adapting his techniques as his condition deteriorated.

3. Creative Collaboration and Album Project:

Mac embarked on a creative journey, collaborating with fellow musicians to produce original compositions, including “Arctic Circles” and a rendition of “Shenandoah” on harmonica. His vision expanded into the album “Resurrection & Revival,” featuring contributions from the Lt. Dan Band, including his father Gary Sinise.

Before his passing, Mac expressed his desire for the proceeds from “Resurrection & Revival” to support the Gary Sinise Foundation. Despite stepping away from his role at the foundation in 2020 due to his health, Mac’s dedication to veterans remained unwavering.
