Man dead after collision between car and a ride-on lawnmower

A man has died after a collision between a car and a ride-on lawnmower in Co Tipperary.

The man, aged in his 30s, was travelling on the lawnmower when the incident happened on the N76 at Kilcash Cross at around 9.50pm on Friday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place.

There were no other injuries reported in the incident.

The road remained closed on Saturday morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda forensic collision investigators.
