DALLAS — A multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler shut down eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Cockrell Hill Road on Saturday morning, according to officials.
Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR) told WFAA the accident happened at approximately 5:40 a.m. and involved up to four vehicles, one of which was an 18-wheeler that leaked diesel fuel from one of its saddle tanks onto the highway.
DFR said hazmat crews responded to the scene of the crash to clean up the spilled diesel fuel. TxDOT cameras showed sand being applied to the road Saturday morning as traffic was diverted off of the interstate.
By 8:45 a.m., two lanes had re-opened, according to TxDOT cameras.
One person was taken to the hospital from the crash, according to DFR. That person’s condition was not known Saturday morning.
