One person is dead after being hit by a freight train early Monday morning.

Police said the incident happened at 10th Avenue and 1st Street S.E. around 1 a.m. The freight train involved in the collision was 166 cars long, which means it stretches more than three kilometres from the scene of the crash, also blocking a crossing near 9th Avenue and 15th Street S.E.
