Ottawa man, 41, dies in Highway 7 head-on collision near Carleton Place

Provincial police in Lanark are investigating a fatal collision early Wednesday on Highway 7 south of White Road, in Drummond-North Elmsley Township.

Police said a westbound SUV and an eastbound tractor-trailer collided in the eastbound lane.

A 41-year-old man from Ottawa was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was alone in the car. The driver of the transport was not seriously injured.

Police said Highway 7 will remain closed in both directions for several hours.
