The holiday marks the anniversary of the 1862 victory by Mexican troops over invading French forces at the Battle of Puebla.

La Katrina Auténtica is located inside Little Joe’s in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood. Reyes and her husband also operate a food truck that’s based in Princeton, Illinois.
