Police in New Jersey have captured a registered sex offender who escaped custody in Newark.
NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) — Police in New Jersey have captured a registered sex offender who escaped custody in Newark.
Police say Nicholas Voutsas, 25, escaped from a health transport van while on the way to University Hospital in Newark on Thursday.
Voutsas was last seen in the area of University Hospital near South Orange Avenue and Bergen Street.
New Jersey State Police said Monday that he was back in custody.
It was not yet clear where he was caught.
