Troubles-based drama Say Nothing is among the top nominees for this year’s Bafta TV awards with three nominations.
The nominations include a best leading actress nod for west Belfast’s Lola Petticrew who portrayed a young Dolours Price, an IRA member who was jailed for her involvement in the 1973 Old Bailey bombing in London which injured over 200 people.
Maxine Peake, who plays an older Dolours, has also received a nomination for best supporting actress with the drama also having received one for best international series.
Based on the book of the same name by Patrick Radden Keefe, the Disney plus nine-part series aired last year on the streaming service and focuses on the story of female IRA members Dolours and Marian Price.
The news follows Petticrew’s success at this year’s IFTA’s where they won best Lead Actress in a Drama for the role and spoke out about the struggles and inequalities facing working class people in Northern Ireland.
Blue Lights, a police drama also set and filmed in Belfast, has been nominated in the Best Drama category.
The Bafta Television Craft Awards, hosted by Stacey Dooley, will take place on Sunday April 27, with the Bafta Television Awards with P&O Cruises hosted by Alan Cumming, taking place on May 11 and broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
